Since he had plans to go to Normandy with Peter but it fell through we decided that would be the goal for the trip. Some historical excursions, delicious food, and great company filled four days in May 2023. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-query is-layout-flow wp-block-query-is-layout-flow\"><ul class=\"columns-3 wp-block-post-template is-layout-grid wp-container-core-post-template-is-layout-0fed8f92 wp-block-post-template-is-layout-grid\"><li class=\"wp-block-post post-878 post type-post status-publish format-standard hentry category-2023-normandy\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-post-title has-medium-font-size\"><a href=\"https:\/\/backeman.se\/index.php\/2023\/05\/18\/in-spite-of-a-bumpy-start-it-looks-promising\/\" target=\"_self\" >In spite of a bumpy start, it looks promising<\/a><\/h3>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-post-excerpt has-small-font-size\"><p class=\"wp-block-post-excerpt__excerpt\">As a gift to our father who turned 70 years last year (2022), we gave him a weekend to Normandie in France. Some historic exploration and lots of good food and company. I started off by waking up a bit early, probably because of some travel fever. The latter got up for a run in the morning (crazy people) while I and Daniel took a sleep-in. We met in the lobby at 10 to get into the city center to find some brunch or lunch. Not the best one but it was sufficient for our needs. Our reserved time slot for entry to the Caen Memorial Museum was at 10. We should return the car at 12. The drive was really smooth, only hit traffic when we came to Paris.
