Sleep-in, got up around 9, and headed downstairs for a continental breakfast. Not that much, but it will suffice. Went out separate ways, dad looking for an art museum and I some shopping street. It was the classic merchant street with a variety of goods, not of the highest quality. Met back at the hotel to go to the Griffith Observatory.

Subway, bus, and then on top of a hill where the observatory offered a great view over Los Angeles and the Hollywood sign. After some pictures in different directions, we found the cafeteria and the gift shop. Per usual, lots of merchandise in the shop and a not-too-good selection in the café. We got something to eat and then headed off the trail down the hill. Passed the Boy Scout trail on the way. Found a subway station and got back to the hotel.

Both took a nap, and then I left for Dodger Stadium to watch the baseball game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Arizona Diamondbacks. I got off at the bus stop that Google Maps directed me to, but couldn’t find any stadium. Walked up a slope and then saw this huge entrance, for cars, to a parking lot. Still no stadium. Now I could see a few wearing jerseys, so I assumed I was on the right track. Crossing the parking lot, following the trail of jerseys, I finally found the entrance to the stadium.

I was on the upper level, so I got directed to an escalator, because America. Then another entrance. Smooth security (an hour before game start probably helped), just scan the mobile ticket and I was inside! Went to the end of my level just to get my bearings and take some photos. I also had a view over the parking lots, and there were a lot of them!

Got a burger and garlic fries (why have garlic and no salt on the fries?) for dinner and headed over to my seat. The guy to my left followed the Dodgers closely but hadn’t been to a game in over ten years. He was kind enough to answer all my questions regarding this sport.

It was much more eventful than the game at Oracle Park, and I got to see a home run! After six innings, the guy to the left went home, and soon after, the couple to the right as well. Then, some other couple dropped down on my right, Trenton, and we started to chat. He asked if I thought it was fun, and I said no, so I had some explaining to do afterwards 😛

I think he got my point, and I understand that it’s more to baseball than I know at the time. After the game, I looked at Google Maps to see what way to get home. The Uber lot was full of people. I wonder how they manage to pair up the right driver with the correct customer. I ended up back at the same bus stop where I arrived. I was alone at the bus stop, so I guess no one else does this. On my way to the stop, I saw a stream of buses named Union Station Express, which, after some googling, I found out left from the stadium. Better research next time…

Got on the bus and headed back to the hotel and to bed. Seems like we have the channel for United-Chelsea in the room, so hopefully we’ll start the morning with some soccer!.
