Today I was working the morning shift, so up bright and early (relatively speaking). Breakfast, and then I felt lazy and my blisters hurt, so I took the bus.
Still not really sure when and how things are set up in the morning, so I just started working on blog posts. We had quite the backlog, so it was just to dig in.
We appear to have a small issue with not everyone doing the posting in the same way, which results in lower quality. Kawan started to go through all posts already done to check their quality, and at the end of the day, we had set up a system to make sure all emails were actually posted (the ambassadors sent an email with the blog post to us, and we publish it). Just 330 emails to go through and verify.
Because of the heat, I keep drinking a lot of water and hence running to the bathroom every now and then. At some point, someone swapped the signs, so when I stepped into the same washing room (for hands) as I’d done last week, my colleague Karen stood there and said, You’re in the wrong one. Chocked, I step out and see that the signs have been changed, I did check them on the previous visit. When being in the correct one, I hear a woman going into the same as me and a man correcting her.
She was working with the listening ear, so I asked her to verify with the local subcamp HQ if this swap was intentional because the women just lost half of their toilets since their new showerhouse has urinals…
A couple of hours later, during the next visit, they had swapped back the signs again and put up extra ones. Not sure if the first swap was intentional or just a prank.
We closed down work at 17 and headed back to Echo for dinner, roughly half the team ate together, it’s nice. Met a bunch of people during the evening, including an American who explained the system of how scouts progress throughout their program, Order of the Arrow, badges, a computer system to keep track of everything, and stuff. We four Swedes were just amazed by how much effort they put into this.
Tomorrow there are a lot of different religious events, so much program is closed before lunch. I’ve got the afternoon shift, so start around 13. Perhaps some more laundry is in order.
